Goose comes to town

When Goose and Will get together, we all know its a good time. Goose came for 4 days to the great city of Fort Worth, the fun never stopped. The night he first got here, we took him back to the best pizza you can find at the mellow mushroom and the best frozen custard at Curley's. It was Gooses birthday so we celebrated the best way, pizza and ice cream. The next day we went to the water gardens and the botanical gardens. I know, can you believe I got these guys to any type of garden! That evening we went to the great shopping in Arlington to find Goose some birthday shoes. After the shoe search was a flop, we found ourselves at Chuy's, Mexican cuisine. We were up bright and early the next day for a day at the zoo and a night of baseball. The Rangers killed Tampa bay both Friday night and Saturday. What a weekend! If you know Will and Goose, you know we rarely stopped laughing!

On a day where it was 100 degrees, Will wanted to make batting practice. To bad the Rangers didn't show up because it was 100 degrees!

The Garden has exploded

Here it is ladies and gentelmen, the garden is HUGE! We are getting a lot of tomatoes and soon to have squash and peppers. This is has been so much fun. We look like weirdos from the street but we are soon to be self sufficent!

Caprese Salad

A caprese salad is a traditional Mediterranean dish. It is slices of tomato, fresh mozzarella and basil misted with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Now here is what we have been waiting for. This is a caprese salad made out of out own basil and our own tomatoes!! We loved it!

IKEA Swedish Meatballs

We have spent a few days recently at IKEA. For those of you that don't know, IKEA is a home furnishing store like no other. Very inexpensive and modern. Almost everything in the store is packaged in pieces for you to assemble when you get home. This makes the transportation of the items simple and easy. This store is originally a Swedish store that is now world wide. There are many IKEA's in Europe and a few state side. They have a small cafe where we had Sunday lunch after church one day. Will tried the Swedish meatballs that they advertise all over the store. He loved them!

Curling Barbies Hair

One day when we were in Ruston, I stayed with the girls for a little while. They wanted to do one thing and one thing only. Figure out how to curl a barbies hair. After assuring them I didn't know how too, they said to me, "Google it Aunt Caroline!" So we did! All we needed were bobbypins and a few straws. After you cut up the straws into one inch pieces, you simply curl the hair around the straw and bobbypin it! Sounds easier than it is. The results were okay but we sure had fun.

My 6th month Anniversary Present

For our 6th month anniversary, Will got me an orchid. I came home from driving Ms. Travis and there it was, just sitting there in all of its beauty! I have been wanting an Orchid for a long time. For the last few months, Lowes has had the most beautiful Orchids and I stare at them everytime I pass by. My mother has them all over her house. She baby's them as though they were her own childern. Throughout her house, she probably has about 25 orchids. She enjoys finding sick ones and bringing them back to health. She has been giving me lots of tips for keeping it healthy. Isn't he sweet :)

Shish kabobs

We tried these the other night. I am going to be honest, Will did all the marinating and grilling. I just stuck everything on the sticks :) But it was SO good I had to show you a picture.

Time with Jeremy Lott

Will left Fort Worth and went to Paducah for a few days. I don't have a huge liking for being alone. So, I decided to visit our good friend Jeremy Lott in Dallas. He had recently moved from Oak Cliff (a smaller section of Dallas) to down town Dallas. He loves it and lives in an incredible loft appartment. He walks to his grocery store and local farmers market. We went to eat at a burger joint named one of the best in the city. Now that I have tried it, I can agree with the claim. Twisted Root Burger was awesome!!
